Saturday, August 9 ***Update 5:21pm***
Water:
Please conserve water. Shut off sprinkler systems. Our Water Wells are run on Norris Public Power and we do not currently have power to them. Thus, we can only run a limited number of them from generators. Additionally, the RO Water Treatment Plant is running on generator power and can only process a limited amount of water at a time. Anything you can do to conserve water will help until full power is restored.
Electric:
Portions of the City are coming back online. Crews will continue to work towards dark. We have numerous crews coming from around the state to assist us in restoring power tonight and tomorrow. If you are still without power, please plan to make arrangements with friends or family.
Shelter:
Hillcrest Evangelical Free Church will be closing as a shelter at 9:00pm tonight. We are working to make arrangements with those in shelter that have family or friends that power has been restored to.
Debris:
The 4-Plex debris location is closed from 5pm to 10am tomorrow. At that time we will reopen and have a staff member on site to help coordinate again. You can place storm debris next to the curb and the City will coordinate pickup. Police Department will be monitoring the 4-plex site to ensure people are not going around the barricades.
**Update 3:15pm***
Shelter:
Hillcrest Evangelical Free Church (2433 Progressive Rd) is open as of 3pm for sheltering as they have power.
Electric:
The City's system has experienced serious damages and the crews continue to work. We do not have an expected timeline, so please prepare to be without power overnight.
Debris removal:
The debris pile at the 4-Plex will be open until 5pm today and resume at 10am tomorrow. Please be tidy when discarding your items so that we can efficiently use the space. The burn pile south of the City will remain closed for the foreseeable future.
Stoplights:
All City stoplights are currently inoperable. Temporary stop signs have been installed to ensure safe traffic flow.
