Spring GC & SC Roundtable
PROGRAM: The Good, the Band, and the Ugly of AI in Construction: Legal Risks, Policies, and Practical Guidance,
1:50-2:50pm
Artificial intelligence tools are rapidly entering construction workplaces—from drafting safety manuals and jobsite procedures to incident reporting and training materials. While AI can increase efficiency and consistency, it also introduces significant legal risks if used improperly. This session provides construction professionals with a clear, practical understanding of the “good, bad, and ugly” of AI in safety and compliance functions.
Will Ozaki and Ashley Connell will explain how AI-generated content can create liability exposure in areas such as OSHA compliance, employment law, contract obligations, recordkeeping, and incident investigations. The program will outline when AI can be a valuable assistant, when human oversight is legally required, and when AI use may create unacceptable risk. Attendees will leave with practical guidance, including real-world risk scenarios, and best practices for integrating AI responsibly into your operations.
