Program: Nebraska Medical Cannabis Law 12:25-1:35pm
In November 2024, by affirmative votes of approximately 70 percent, Nebraska voters passed Initiatives 437 and 438, which collectively provide for certain medical professionals to recommend the use of medical marijuana and create a commission to regulate the manufacture, distribution, and sale of the drug within Nebraska’s borders. This presentation will dive into the details of these laws, review their current regulatory status, and address common sense steps that Nebraska construction employers need to take to ensure legal compliance and safety on jobsites. Additionally, we will consider the interaction of federal laws and regulations with the passage of these initiatives.
