Committee Goal/Objective:
To provide financial support for the Legislative and State level candidates and elected representatives that support the construction industry’s issues.

Membership:
The committee chair will be reappointed on an annual basis if all parties are in agreement. The membership of the committee will be on a voluntary basis, but ideally should provide equal representation for all members across the state. The Executive Director will be a standing member of the committee. The committee will determine PAC contributions on behalf of the chapter on an as needed basis. The Committee Chair and the Executive Director will each have one vote, along with one vote from each PAC Committee member participating in the decision making meeting/call.
Functions, Time line and Responsibilities:

  1. The geographical regions of the committee will be: Region 1, the Panhandle area; Region 2, the Central area; Region 3, the Northeast area; Region 4, the Lincoln metro area; and Region 5, the Omaha metro area.
  2. The committee will organize for the year each June. The committee will approve a list of recommended PAC donations to be presented to legislative level candidates. The PAC Committee, along with the Legislative Committee Chair and ED will make the final decision to donate to individual campaigns. The ED will arrange with local members to present the check to candidates.
  3. Host an event for members to meet with the State Senators during the Legislative Session in Lincoln.
  4. The ED, with the assistance of the committee members will provide a profile of primary candidates prior to May election.  This information will be available to Chapter members via the Member’s Only section of the website.
  5. Host an event for members to meet with the State Senators during the Legislative Session each year. This will be held in Lincoln.
  6. The ED, with the assistance of the committee members will provide a profile of primary and general election candidates prior to the elections. This information will be distributed via the Member’s Only Section of the Website.
