Implementation of LB403 Begins on October 1st

This new law requires that all private employers seeking contractors with public employers and all public contractors and/or their subcontractors need to verify the legal work status of new employees using the federal immigration verification system.

Thank you to all the member firms that contributed equipment, displays, materials and time to make the 10-day run happen.  The CLC was staffed by AGC members filling 86 volunteer shifts, along with Bob Carlson, Curt Smith, Jean Petsch, Samantha Porter, Sheila Radenslaben, Linda Witfoth, Bev Smith and Ron Petsch being there on an ongoing basis each day.  The stage events, which included the Block Kid Building Contest and the Step Stool Building Activity, were staffed by the Student Chapter members from Southeast Community College-Milford Campus.  The students filled an additional 54 volunteer shifts during the fair.

A LEED-AP Test Prep Course has been scheduled for December.  The 6-hour test prep course will be held 2:00-4:00pm on three consecutive Tuesdays, starting on December 1st.  The location (Omaha or Lincoln) will be determined based on enrollment. The training cost will be prorated, based on the number of participants, plus the cost of the manual.  We will once again be contracting with the M.E. Group-Green Division to provide the training.
