Update on Chapter Committee Work

Much of the planning for the Chapter events season of September to May happens during the summer months.  Likewise, many of the events stem from ideas, feedback and guidance provided by chapter members who serve on committees.  Click here to view committees and active members. http://www.agcnebuilders.com/members.shtml  Here is a quick rundown of what’s been going on.  Contact Jean for more details and watch the E-Update for information.

Nebraska Design & Construction Industry Council

• Developing a curriculum on project delivery systems and how to implement.  It will be a resource members can use in working with clients and public boards.  Resource will be available by about August 1st. 
• The next project for this joint industry council will be updating the 2004 version of the AGC-AIA Bid Manual

Membership Development Committee

• Developed the BUILD NEBRASKA AWARD.  This member professional award program will be announced in July for projects completed in 2009 or 2010.  Project nominations will be due in mid fall and awards will be announced at Fall Conference in mid November. 
• EVERY MEMBER RECRUITMENT PROGRAM continues to be in place http://www.agcnebuilders.com/documents/EveryMemberRecruitment.pdf
  Invite other firms that meet the skill, integrity and responsibility requirement to join.

Program Planning Committee

• SAVE THE DATE-Fall Conference on November 10 & 11 in Lincoln at Nebraska Club and Cornhusker Marriott. 
• Developing a Construction Leadership Development Series for December to April.
• Supervisory Training Program STP OnLine—we will start through the 10-course series again with three courses between November and April. 
• There will be several other half-day training events and Regional Member Meetings starting in late September.

Education Committee

• Will be meeting on July 1st to develop the Education and Scholarship Fundraising activity for Fall.

Nebraska Construction Industry PAC Committee

• Will meet in early August to determine any PAC contributions to Legislative Candidates for the November election.

The online test prep webinars will continue throughout the summer on a monthly basis.  The Calendar of Events will always have the most current course registration and date information.
