2010 Update Training for Field Personnel

The 2010 Update Training For Field Personnel is in the final planning stage and is set to be offered in the afternoon in Lincoln on April 13th and in Omaha the afternoon of April 14th. 

The purpose of the training is to provide an update of rules and regulations; identify new areas of accountability/enforcement; and provide overview of “best practices” to lessen the problems in the topic areas of environmental issues, OSHA and building to LEED requirements. 

Details and registration information will be available very soon.  Start thinking of all who should attend from you firm and save the date.

Spring AGC Student Chapter Seminar and Dinner

The Spring AGC Student Chapter Seminar and Dinner was held on Thursday, March 4th at the Nebraska Club in Lincoln.  Seventy-five students and advisors attended along with available members of the Education Committee. 

Staff members from Kiewit Building Group presented a great program on BIM.  Jean Petsch and Don Wrieth presented a segment on networking and building business relationships.  Members of the Education Committee interviewed the officer teams from each chapter about their proposed request for use of education funds.  At the conclusion of the seminar everyone had a chance to socialize, and have supper together.

AGCA Announcement On Bogus Invoices Being Sent Across The Country

Members Receiving Unsolicited Fax Invoices May File FCC Complaints - NAGC is Not Affiliated with AGC.

AGC Members have again reported receiving unwanted solicitation faxes from the “NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF GENERAL CONTRACTORS AND SUBCONTRACTORS, INC.” (NAGC). This time with a newly designed fax solicitation under the guise of an “Annual Dues Application,” NAGC faxes have been reported by members across the country.

PLEASE NOTE THAT NEITHER AGC OF AMERICA NOR ANY ONE OR MORE OF ITS CHAPTERS IS THE SOURCE OF THIS SOLICITATION. Indeed, neither has any affiliation of any kind with this largely unknown but persistent organization.
