LB 552- The Nebraska Construction Prompt Pay Act Passed on Final Reading February 5th-And was signed into law by the Governor on February 11th.

Woods and Aitken LLP is preparing a synopsis and discussion of the new law.  It will be available via the E-Update in the next 30-45 days. The operative date of the bill is October 1, 2010.  This has been a top priority bill for the Chapter for the past two sessions.  Over two years ago the Building Chapter, NECA, MCA-Omaha and the Heavy Highway Chapter, along with our legal counsel from Woods & Aitken LLP started working on the language for this bill.
