The Program Planning Committee has a great educational experience scheduled for this year. Jean doesn’t just make this stuff up!  Board members, committee members and members across the state provide input on approval for all the programming the Chapter presents. 

If you need lodging note that the $99.00 room block is in place until October 20, 2011. The hotel will most likely still honor that rate for Thursday night.

7.5 CONTINUING EDUCATION COURSE FOR LEED-AP
This one-day course, “Building to LEED-for New Construction”, will be held in Omaha on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 and is tuition FREE due to funding from the SyNErgy Program.  This course has been approved for continuing education units by the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI).  Course participants will earn LEED BD&C specific GBCI 7.5 CE hours.  Click here for all details and registration form.  Deadline to register is November 28, 2011.

DO WE REALLY WANT TO SAY “NO” TO OUR STUDENT CHAPTERS?
Of course we don’t want to have to cut back on our support and scholarships.  However, if the Education Committee does not reach its goal of selling all the $25.00 raffle tickets by 11-3-11 we might be forced to do so. 

If you have not been contacted by a committee member or student AND would like to purchase raffle tickets contact Jean at jdpetsch@windstream.net ASAP.  If you’re not into raffle tickets feel free to make a direct donation to the scholarship fund by mailing a check to the Chapter Office.  Call Jean or Vicki if you have questions.

SUPERVISORY TRAINING PROGRAM—STP OnLINE
The 10-course series is starting again in January, 2012 with two courses;
CONSTRACT DOCUMENTS & CONSTRUCTION LAW (starts January 9) and
GENERAL & SPECIALTY CONTRACTOR DYNAMICS (starts February 20). 

• Easier to use courseware for students
• Weekly “in live time: verbal discussion time by webinar each Wednesday from 4:00- 5:00pm CST
• A 30-minute “in live time” orientation session to get everyone off to a good start
• Improved pre-and post-evaluation to track your learning.
