2011 Legislative Bills of Interest

White Paper-A201 Modification in School Construction Contracts Available Now

A number of Nebraska school districts have been utilizing a construction contract that specifies the AIA A201 for the general conditions with many modifications.  Brian Koerwitz, Woods & Aitken LLP has prepared a white paper entitled, “Modified AIA201 Doesn’t Make the Grade”.  The white paper is designed to bring the modifications to your attention in hopes that you and your legal counsel will be aware of the changes and able to negotiate a more favorable terms.  Rex Schultze, Attorney for many of NE school districts is the author of the modified A201 reviewed in the white paper.  Be aware that these modifications might show up in other situations also.  Email Jean to receive a copy of the white paper: jdpetsch@windstream.net

LEED-AP Test Prep Webinar Starts This Week

Still time to register.  Green Associate and BD+C test prep Webinar each runs for four weeks and cost $250.00.  This Webinar qualifies for the free tuition from the SyNErgy Grant.  Act today—the February classes start on Wednesday and Thursday of this week.

Legislative Day-March 8th

Please save the date.  Once again this year the Legislative Day will be hosted by the Nebraska Design and Construction Industry Council (ACG-AIA-ACEC).  The program will be held at the Capitol in the morning, with the Governor and several State Senators speaking to the group.  The program will be followed by a luncheon with all Senators invited at the Cornhusker Marriott.  Programs and registration details will be out very soon.
